About The Position

The role of the lead man is to lead by example, working alongside crew members. The lead man will be responsible for performing tasks involving physical labor at building and demolition sites under the direct supervision of a Fransen Pittman Supervisor and as well as assisting the site foreman as necessary with coordination and other activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of commercial construction experience as a carpenter
  • Effectively communicate with Foreman, Project Superintendent and all other team members
  • Ability to read and understand simple project drawings and specifications
  • Ability to plan, setup and complete a given task
  • Working knowledge of subcontractor’s scope of work and specification
  • Must have a current driver’s license and dependable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10-hour certification is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Understand safety and needed PPE for specific tasks you and your crew will be handling.
  • Be observant of the changing conditions of the site or building and bring concerns to foreman or Project Superintendent’s attention immediately.
  • Coordinate other trades with the site foreman and work with subcontractors to ensure optimal work production.
  • Line out Fransen Pittman crew member after morning meetings. Discuss needed tools, PPE, and logistics for completing tasks.
  • Work with the foreman or superintendent on site regarding methods of completing work activities, employee/subcontractor issues, time management, inventory of materials or PPE.
  • Lead man must be able to organize and repair all BMP’s from the foreman’s Stormwater inspections.
  • Treat client, representatives, trade partners, and design professionals with respect and professionalism.
