Requirements

  • Must meet ENMAX Corporation’s requirements as to qualifications and/or must be qualified under the A Alberta Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Education Act with respect to the related electrical trade
  • Must have a proven safety record and thorough knowledge of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Practices (SWPs)
  • Must have a Red Seal and/or Alberta Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certification OR Journeyperson Power System Electrician Certification.
  • Must be qualified under the Alberta Manpower Development Act with respect to the related electrical trade.
  • Must have worked as a Journeyperson Power Lineman OR Journeyperson Power System Electrician for twenty-four (24) months within the last 5 years.
  • Must have a valid Province of Alberta driver's license, upgrade as required.
  • Must be willing to upgrade qualifications as required.
  • Must be legal to work in Canada and requires the successful completion of a criminal background check and a pre-employment medical screen (including drug and alcohol testing).
  • Two pieces of valid Government issued ID will be required.
  • Two professional references will be requested.
  • Applicants will be required to provide a current driver’s abstract (those with more than 6 demerits will not be considered) and must be able to meet ENMAX’s insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Province of Alberta, ENMAX Corporation, A.E.U.C. (Alberta Electrical Utility Code) and Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensuring and promoting the safety of crew and others under their direction.
  • Instructing, training and mentoring apprentices and journeyman on ENMAX policies and procedures
  • Ensuring proper care and use of vehicles, equipment and worksite(s) under their direction.
  • Ensuring employees under their direction are adhering to applicable policies and procedures, taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensuring the completion and accuracy of all reports &/or documents associated with the work completed under their direction. These may include, but are not limited to tailboards, material requisitions, time reporting, Maximo etc.
  • Use of Infra-red equipment to identify problem areas and generate reports so that repairs can be made.
  • Other duties as required.
