About The Position

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams. As a Leadership Technical Program Manager, you will lead network deployment programs and manage a team that drives the tactical work. You will guide the team in organizing cross-functional projects, ensuring clear ownership, streamlined workflows, and managed schedules. The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what’s possible. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 8 years of experience in a telecom or data center infrastructure space.
  • 5 years of experience in leadership role with direct reports.

Nice To Haves

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
  • Experience with data center, networking, or telecom operations.
  • Experience working in organizational settings (e.g., shared accountability, geographic dispersion, ambiguity, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of technical program managers responsible for cross-functional coordination and oversight of data center network and capacity growth projects in a given region.
  • Hire, coach, and develop a team to meet objectives.
  • Manage career development and aid in personal growth of team members.
  • Work with direct reports and partner teams to set and implement short-term and long-term infrastructure delivery strategy for the region.
  • Own and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams.
  • Define and develop cross-team roles, expectations, and responsibilities.
  • Deliver execution within multi-project programs.
  • Drive process development and iterative optimization.
