About The Position

As a New Grad Leadership Simulation Engineer, you will be part of the Career Catalyst Program, designed to expose potential leaders to multiple departments with growing responsibility. You will rotate through several teams within Global I&C at Westinghouse, including Safety and Reactor Systems Engineering, Control and Information Systems Engineering, Systems Engineering, Advanced Operations and Controls Engineering, and Global I&C Production. These areas encompass Systems Engineering, Hardware Design, and Software Design (Controls, Display, and Object-Oriented). Additionally, you will work in Verification & Validation and Testing (Environmental, Functional, Integration), and Simulator Development and Testing. The Career Catalyst Program aims to support business growth, develop leadership skills, demonstrate corporate stewardship, and identify future career interests. You will report to the I&C Manager and work a hybrid schedule in Cranberry, PA.

Requirements

  • Completion of bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering degree
  • Flexibility to relocate based on the job rotations within the Greater Pittsburgh area (e.g. Cranberry, New Stanton, Warrendale, Etna)
  • Demonstrated leadership with examples
  • Above average academic achievement
  • 1+ years of experience with or knowledge of Labview, C++, Java, Python, object-oriented design, basic TCP/IP networking knowledge, virtualization, embedded software
  • Experience with or knowledge of Printed Circuit Boards, Analog/Digital Circuit Design, FPGA, CPLDs

Responsibilities

  • Deliver value across multiple departments and global locations, involving planning, communication, and teamwork to gain hands-on experience and understanding of different departments.
  • Identify areas of improvement and utilize data analysis skills to propose solutions for enhancing the efficiency of each rotational department.
  • Develop a foundation of leadership.
  • Help develop a system design for I&C systems based on functional requirements, design requirements, and regulatory requirements. Assist in the engineering review of system documentation.
  • Support design engineers in developing the hardware and software design of the I&C system, including developing design documents such as functional logic diagrams, system design documents, and calculation notes.
  • Support customer offer development for I&C system projects.
