About The Position

The Lead is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordinating daily operations and ensuring that team members understand and follow assigned tasks efficiently and accurately. This role serves as a key point of communication between the Supervisor and the team, helping to maintain production goals, safety, equipment functionality, and adherence to Tyson policies and procedures. The Lead supports a safe and productive work environment while monitoring workflow, equipment, and team performance.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Must stand and walk for extended periods (average 8-hour shift).
  • May lift, push, or pull up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must perform repetitive tasks and work with hands continuously.
  • Ability to work in a cold, wet, and noisy environment (Very).
  • Work may involve bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • All applicants must provide their government identification number so the system can verify any previous Tyson employment history.
  • This facility accepts rehires after 365 days and only if the applicant has not worked more than two previous times for Tyson.
  • Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate the Supervisor’s instructions clearly to team members.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed timely and accurately.
  • Monitor production processes to maintain efficiency and address any issues proactively.
  • Check equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning and report issues immediately to the Supervisor.
  • Assist with training new and existing team members as directed.
  • Monitor and support team compliance with safety protocols and PPE use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Complete and verify production paperwork as assigned.
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Promote teamwork, respect, and accountability among team members.
  • Perform production duties as needed to support the team and ensure line coverage.
  • Follow and enforce all Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Serve as acting point of contact in Supervisor’s absence.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and share feedback with leadership.
  • Assist with downtime reporting and production tracking.
  • Support quality checks and ensure product specifications are met.
