About The Position

This is a Temp To Full-Time position where the Lead is responsible for various aspects of product preparation, including rolling and cutting dough, depositing fillings, and shaping products according to recipe specifications. The role involves leading mixing and baking teams in the production of fillings, icing, toppings, cakes, and other specialty items. The Lead will also bake shaped dough and decorate final products, ensuring exact measurements and strict attention to timing. In the absence of the 1st shift Baking Supervisor, the Lead will act as a supervisor, overseeing general operations, daily production needs, setting production schedules, and measuring actual vs. projected production. The Lead will assist the Supervisor in leading mixing and specialty baking teams (approximately 13 employees), partner with the Daytime Kringle Lead for efficient daily production, provide training, maintain compliance, adhere to quality standards, troubleshoot issues, and complete production as needed. Additionally, the Lead will assist in coaching and developing staff, work with other leaders and HR to facilitate positive relationships, optimize operational efficiencies, ensure high-quality standards, and ensure team members are trained on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and other food safety procedures. The role also includes troubleshooting equipment issues with maintenance, supporting performance reviews, promoting strengths, identifying areas for improvement, and assisting other departments when needed. Other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years in supervisory role
  • Strong Math skills, including but not limited to the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide without the aid of a calculator
  • Ability to read and speak English
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively throughout shift
  • Comfortable standing, lifting, and bending for the duration of an entire shift
  • Ability to complete repetitive motions throughout designated shift
  • Ability to Stand or Walk for extended periods of time throughout shift

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in Food Service and/or Manufacturing environment strongly desired
  • Ability to speak Spanish desired, but not required
  • Ability to lead staff members in a collaborative and encouraging manner
  • Ability to obtain information and take a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work 1st or 3rd Shift with prior notification

Responsibilities

  • Bake shaped dough and, if applicable, decorate the final product.
  • Use exact measurements and pay strict attention to timing.
  • Act as 1st shift Baking Supervisor in their absence, overseeing general operations and daily production needs by leading the baking department and managing the team.
  • Set production schedule and measure actual vs. projected production on a daily basis.
  • Assist Supervisor in leading the mixing and specialty baking teams (approximately 13 employees) during daily production.
  • Partner with Daytime Kringle Lead to complete daily production efficiently.
  • Provide necessary training to team members.
  • Maintain compliance and adhere to quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, technical, and personnel issues as they arise.
  • Personally complete production as needed.
  • Assist Baking Supervisor in coaching and developing staff members.
  • Work with other leaders and Human Resources to facilitate positive relationships with team members.
  • Optimize operational efficiencies while ensuring the company’s high quality standards are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure that all workers on team are trained and adhere to the company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Ensure that all workers on team are trained and adhere to the company's HACCP and other food safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot any issues and involve maintenance to ensure equipment is available for use when needed and properly maintained.
  • Support Supervisor in reviewing the performance of personnel within the department, promoting strengths and positive contributions to the organization as well as identifying areas for improvements.
  • Be willing to help other departments when in need to help carry out our mission on a daily basis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
