About The Position

Perform work outdoors in the yard, removing parts from cars. Serves in a lead capacity by reviewing work, allocating resources to meet production goals, reporting daily production to management, accepting special assignments, and solving routine issues. Essential Job Duties May operate a forklift or loader to assist in setting vehicles in to or out of processing and or the yard as assigned. Recording and entering information on vehicles set or removed accurately and in a timely manner. Clean out debris from cars before they go into the processing area. Remove all fluids, lubricants and components (ie: converters) as required in a safe and efficient manner to prep vehicles for setting in the yard. Pull out batteries to be tested and resold. Bring charged batteries to the retail area. Walk the yard and place debris in the cars being removed from the yard. Dismantle tires. Remove engine and electrical components. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment. Ensure all EPA and OSHA regulations are being met. Wear and enforce wearing of all required PPE. Comply with established company policies and procedures. Initiate and support the continual improvement of PYP’s quality improvement system. Assume other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Lead the work of others who perform essentially the same work. May set priorities, schedule, and review work, but have no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance, and/or make pay decisions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related leadership experience required.
  • Fully competent in job requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
  • Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills.
  • May train others in functional areas, interact with others, and make presentations to the department or middle management.
  • Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
