About The Position

Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, performs cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications and assists in the monitoring of the custodial crews work. This is a Full-Time position offering a competitive salary. This position requires that the employee must successfully complete a criminal history information background check and drug screening and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. This position may require use of your personal vehicle to transport persons-served. All Melwood transportation policies must be followed. Liability insurance on your personal vehicle must be in full force and effect while transporting for or on the behalf of Melwood. Melwood will reimburse for mileage pursuant to the Travel policy.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
One (1) year experience in custodial work
Must be able to pass security clearance
Must be able to stand or walk 90% of the work time; and sit 10%.
Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds.
Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
Must be able to communicate with supervisors and co workers.
Must have good vision, with depth perception and ability to distinguish colors for safety reasons.
Must successfully complete criminal history information background check and drug screening.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Must follow all Melwood transportation policies.
Must maintain liability insurance on personal vehicle in full force and effect while transporting for or on the behalf of Melwood.

Nice To Haves

Some supervisory experience preferred.
Prior experience with individuals with differing abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

Sweeps and mops hallways, stairs and offices.
Empties tenants' waste baskets and dispose the trash in prescribed manner.
Dusts horizontal surfaces.
Clean bathrooms.
Waxes and buffs floors with prescribed buffers.
Cleans glass and windows.
Washes walls and other vertical surfaces.
Performs snow removal if required by contract specifications.
Polishes kick panels, door knobs and other designated fixtures.
Strips and waxes floors.
Vacuum rugs.
Mixes cleaning solutions.
Maintains issued equipment.
Notifies supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasks.
Supervises activities of assigned workers on a temporary basis while performing own work.
Assumes responsibility of crew during the absence of the foreman.
Performs all other duties assigned by Custodial Foreman.
