About The Position

PCSI is looking for a Lead Worker at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center! This role is responsible for overseeing daily cleaning operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting team performance. The Lead Worker will maintain high-quality standards, coordinate staff, and ensure all processes are followed to deliver exceptional service and customer satisfaction. This position will report to the Supervisor and is based at Alexandria T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Typical work hours will be Tuesday - Saturday, 2PM - 10PM. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one year of experience supervised by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • One year of any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • May require some knowledge of PC functions and software.
  • May require some knowledge of Operation of windows applications, MS Word, MS Excel, and related applications.
  • Ability to push objects up to 100 pounds, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to bend the body downward and squat by bending at the knees.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk facility approximately 90% of the time during working hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand service requests, container labels, product information and directions on cleaning chemicals and other materials.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of safety practices as related to the work.
  • Ability to follow directions, work rules and procedures, accept constructive criticism and interact harmoniously with coworkers, hospital staff and visitors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
  • Ability to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors. Subject to hazards associated with working in a health care environment that may cause personal harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  • May be required to work in aseptic areas and be exposed to various chemicals and infectious disease.
  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
  • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect assigned areas for cleanliness and a complete quality control check list on a daily basis to ensure a 90% standard is consistently maintained.
  • Inspect all projects and follow up when projects are completed. Make sure all employees are following established processes and procedures to ensure the highest quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all employees are clocked in at the correct time and at their stations and working make sure that all areas are covered.
  • Encourage, guide, and mentor all employees’ personal and professional development. Assign tasks and work schedules to employees as needed.
  • Ensure employees comply with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization, Medicare, and city, state, and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Issue written and/or oral instructions. Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies, procedures and processes.
  • Can perform and/or assist subordinates in performing required duties.
  • Responsible for Phone Log.
  • All requests and complaints are handled with a sense of urgency. All complaints will require a corrective action report as prescribed by PCSI’s Corrective Action Process.
  • Assist in providing continual on-the-job training as required. Schedule employee re-training as required on new processes and procedures demand.
  • Assist supervisor in maintaining all supplies required to perform cleaning duties. Ensure supplies are available to the employees in order for them to complete their assigned tasks.
  • At the end of shift inventory supplies and decide to correct deficiencies.
