Requirements
- Minimum of 4-6+ years’ experience welding
Nice To Haves
- Tank welding experience preferred
- Rail experience is an additional plus
Responsibilities
- Lead a team by assigning tasks
- Use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics or work orders and uses manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials
- Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches using manual, automatic welding and/or semi-automatic welding equipment
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and perform minor maintenance to equipment
- Observes all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records
- Assist in the completion of all tasks to meet deadlines
- Maintain and improve quality
- Conduct multiple NDE tests
- Acts as subject matter expert
- Coaches & trains lower level Welders
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
