Lead Water Damage Technician
About The Position
ServiceMaster TEAM is hiring a Lead Water Damage Restoration Technician for their DFW mitigation team. This is a hands-on role where the technician will perform water mitigation work, including moisture inspections, moisture mapping, psychrometric readings, and controlled demolition. They will also set up, monitor, and adjust drying, filtration, and air scrubber equipment. The technician will collaborate with Project Management on drying, containment, and deodorization strategies. A key responsibility is to oversee and guide other technicians on jobs, assist in holding them accountable, and mentor newer techs when needed. The role involves occasional communication with adjusters to explain scope, moisture data, and progress, and to help validate scope and supplements. Documentation of readings, equipment placement, progress, and photos in restoration software is also required. The position offers the opportunity to work directly with project managers and see jobs through from the initial call.
Requirements
- IICRC WRT certification
- 1–3 years in restoration, mitigation, or disaster recovery
- Comfort and confidence talking with insurance adjusters
- Strong grasp of drying science, psychrometrics, and material behavior
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions
- Available for an on-call rotation (required)
Nice To Haves
- ASD or other IICRC certifications
- Experience with restoration documentation and job management software
- Insurance-driven restoration experience is strongly preferred
