About The Position

Penske Logistics is looking for a Lead Warehouse Worker to become part of an excellent team at our operation in Georgetown, KY. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment. The Lead Warehouse worker provides support and some supervision to regular and temporary warehouse associate functions. You will work closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure employee productivity expectations are met, and various responsibilities meet the supervisor's expectations.

  • Ability to stack totes and/or pallets
  • Ability to move materials within the warehouse
  • Ability to electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
  • Ability to perform quality control
  • Ability to complete daily logs
  • Ability to communicate with associates from other shifts or departments
  • Ability to attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
  • Ability to read work orders or receive oral instructions
  • Ability to read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions
  • Ability to use a computer to enter data and maintain inventory records
  • Ability to open and close dock doors
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational goals while championing safety and productivity
  • Executes assignments, provides status updates, & project visibility to Operations Supervisor(s)
  • Operate forklifts, counterbalance, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed
  • Stage and sort products; loads and unloads trailers
  • Stack totes, and/or pallets; move materials within the warehouse
  • Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
  • Quality control; ensure damaged products are sent out and identify damaged products when received
  • Complete daily logs and communicate with associates from other shifts or departments
  • Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
  • Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be loaded/unloaded
  • Uses computer to enter data and maintains inventory records as needed
  • Opens and closes dock doors
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
