About The Position

The Lead Warehouse Specialist is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations, ensuring timely and accurate shipment of goods, coordinating with team members, and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety regulations. This role involves leading daily operations in a specific department to meet and exceed key metrics, conducting tier 1 meetings, participating in the safety committee, ensuring appropriate workflow and labor distribution, and addressing and resolving obstacles. The Lead Warehouse Specialist also assists management with safety and building security issues, allocates resources for pre-shift walkthroughs to identify safety risks, and contributes to accident analyses and resolution activities. They partner with leadership in other departments to balance volume and labor across the shift, develop ideas for operational improvements using LEAN practices, and are responsible for completing all required paperwork and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, this role involves providing training and coaching to team members, including technical training and problem-solving, and assisting in maintaining a clean, organized, and audit-ready department that upholds a 5S culture.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in and familiarity with systems, tools, or processes preferred
  • Warehouse, distribution, supply chain experience
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and equipment
  • Basic level of computer skills preferred; MS Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Knowledge of the operation of power/mobile equipment; may require additional training and/or certification on additional power equipment
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds regularly, up to 150 pounds infrequently and operate manual pallet jacks
  • Physically able to handle repetitive lifting, climbing, standing, and walking
  • Must be able to perform the duties performed by the associates they lead

Responsibilities
