About The Position

This role is for a 2nd Shift Lead Warehouse Associate in Hebron, KY, with an hourly pay of $19.54. The position involves fulfilling the duties of a Material Handling Operator while also providing leadership and setting a positive example for other associates. Key responsibilities include training and developing associates, serving as a point of reference for operational questions, working with the supervisor on workflow, managing temporary labor, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The role also includes completing reports, conducting pre-shift and safety meetings, performing safety observations, cycle counts, and customer inventories, and assisting with material handling equipment training for new employees. The Lead Warehouse Associate will also update sanitation records, perform quality control testing, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and participate in meetings. This position may require backup support for the Warehouse Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must acquire forklift certification upon hire.
  • Basic reading and math skills.
  • Must be able to follow specific instructions thoroughly and accurately, and provide instructions to other associates as needed.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs safely on occasion as required.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and motor skills.
  • Ability to understand, follow and enforce company policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Prefer 1-3 years prior experience operating a forklift in a high volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills the duties and responsibilities of a Material Handling Operator.
  • Provides leadership and sets a positive example for other associates through productivity, quality, sanitation, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Continuously trains and develops associates on standard operation procedures (SOP) and job safety analysis (JSA).
  • Serves as a primary point of reference for warehouse associates regarding operational or procedural questions.
  • Works closely with supervisor on delegating and prioritizing work flow.
  • Leads and manages temporary labor personnel as required to ensure the efficient, accurate and timely completion of projects.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment and reinforces sanitation and safety policies with warehouse associates.
  • Completes forms and prepares reports as required.
  • Conduct pre-shift and safety meetings.
  • Complete Safety observations.
  • Conduct Cycle counts and customer inventories.
  • Back up to Warehouse Supervisor as needed.
  • Assists with the material handling equipment training of new employees.
  • Updates and maintains sanitation records.
  • Performs cycle counts or quality control testing and communicates findings and observations to Supervisor.
  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities in warehousing processes.
  • Participates in departmental or interdepartmental meetings.
