Requirements

Florida VPK Teacher Certification or eligibility (AS or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field)
Minimum 1-2 years of experience teaching in a VPK or early childhood classroom setting
Strong knowledge of Florida's VPK performance standards and early childhood best practices
Current DCF 45-hour Child Care Training or equivalent certification required
CDA required
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Warm, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine passion for early childhood education

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate VPK curriculum aligned with Florida's Voluntary Prekindergarten standards
Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for preschool-aged children
Assess and track student progress, maintaining accurate developmental records and portfolios
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child development and classroom activities
Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to ensure a consistent, high-quality learning experience
Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and compliance with state licensing requirements
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
