About The Position

The Lead Volleyball Instructor / Referee will work alongside the Sports & Programs Director to deliver and grow quality volleyball programming. This position will lead instructional programs, support assistant coaches, referee league games, and help create a positive, organized environment focused on player development. The immediate focus will be launching Volleyball Skills, Drills & 3v3! beginning November 4th.

Requirements

Volleyball playing, coaching, or refereeing experience.
Enjoys working with youth athletes.
Confident leading groups and communicating with players, parents, coaches, and staff.
Dependable, organized, and prepared.
Passionate about player development and creating a positive sports environment.
Willing to take direction while also bringing new ideas to the program.

Responsibilities

Execute program curriculum and session plans.
Teach serving, passing, setting, hitting, defense, positioning, and game play.
Provide instruction and feedback appropriate for different skill levels.
Keep sessions active, organized, and engaging.
Lead and communicate with the partnered Assistant Volleyball Coach.
Delegate responsibilities and provide guidance during practices and programs.
Model strong coaching and professionalism.
Referee YMCA youth volleyball league games.
Apply rules fairly and consistently.
Manage game flow while promoting safety and sportsmanship.
Communicate professionally with players and coaches.
Work with the Sports & Programs Director to strengthen and expand volleyball programming.
Provide ideas and feedback on curriculum, equipment, and program structure.
Help develop future clinics, academies, camps, leagues, and other volleyball opportunities.
