Lead Video Editor

Sweet Fish MediaWinter Garden, FL

About The Position

B2B video is mostly forgettable. Safe cuts, stock music, talking heads. We're building something different — and we need a Lead Editor who's bothered by mediocre work. Sweet Fish Media is a B2B video production company in Orlando, FL producing brand films, thought leadership content, commercial spots, testimonials, social series, and more for some of the most interesting companies in their respective categories. We move fast, we have strong opinions, and we're actively redefining what B2B video can look and feel like. This role is at the center of that. --- THE ROLE This is a three-pillar position: 1. Own the Post Production Pipeline 2. Lead the Editing Team & Freelance Flexforce 3. Define What Great B2B Video Looks Like

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional editing experience with a portfolio that demonstrates range — B2B, branded content, or agency work strongly preferred
  • Expert-level Premiere Pro and After Effects; comfortable across DaVinci Resolve, Frame.io, Descript, and AI video generation and editing tools
  • A genuine understanding of storytelling structure — you know why a cut works, not just how to make it
  • Experience leading or directing other editors, whether in-house or freelance
  • Strong motion graphics sensibility — you can build clean, polished assets and know when design serves the story vs. distracts from it
  • High operational bandwidth — you can hold the creative and the logistical at the same time, without letting either slip
  • A reel that makes us stop scrolling

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a production company or agency environment with multiple concurrent client projects
  • Familiarity with Asana or similar project management workflows for post production
  • Comfort with AI-assisted editing tools and utilizing AI across your workflow
  • On-set experience — understanding how footage is captured makes you a better editor of it

Responsibilities

  • Own the Master Production Workflow — tracking every active project through intake, edit, review, revision, and delivery across a high-volume client roster
  • Manage media ingestion: organize, label, and structure incoming footage from shoots, client uploads, and event captures so editors can hit the ground running
  • Build and enforce file structure, naming conventions, and archiving standards across all productions
  • Serve as the post-production point of contact for producers — translating project needs into clear editorial direction
  • Assign, direct, and give meaningful creative feedback to internal editors and a curated bench of freelance editors across simultaneous productions
  • Set and uphold editorial standards — polished timelines, clean sequencing, proper pacing, and airtight asset delivery
  • Review and quality-check edits before they reach clients — your sign-off means it's ready
  • Identify gaps in the freelance bench and help source, evaluate, and onboard new freelance talent when needed
  • Contribute to editor development — share technique, give directed notes, and help build a team that raises its own ceiling
  • Edit across Sweet Fish's full video type roster: brand films, commercial spots, thought leadership videos, testimonials, case studies, social shorts, podcast video, product demos, event recaps, and even AI social content
  • Drive storytelling decisions — structure narratives that are emotionally resonant, not just informationally competent
  • Lead motion graphics involvement: create or art-direct graphic assets, lower thirds, kinetic type, and branded visual elements that feel intentional, not templated
  • Push client work creatively — bring visual references, push edits past the first cut, and advocate for the version that's actually good
  • Help develop and document Sweet Fish's editorial style standards as we expand into new video formats and categories
