Performs patient exams and oversees the activities of the staff technologists. The Lead Technologist ensures a patient focused environment. Quality Improvement/QA responsibilities include participation in the correlative review process and Biannual QA meetings. Coordinates and facilitates Student and new hire education and training.
Requirements
- Specialized post-secondary training equal to two years of college.
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registered.
- BLS required.
- Two years of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates staff and patient flow through imaging section.
- Performs imaging exams following departmental protocols.
- Prepares all monthly, holiday, on-call and vacation schedules.
- Responsible for performance appraisals, orientation interviewing and training of personnel.
- Participates in writing and updating policies, procedures, and protocol manuals for department.
