Performs patient exams and oversees the activities of the staff technologists. The Lead Technologist ensures a patient focused environment. Quality Improvement/QA responsibilities include participation in the correlative review process and Biannual QA meetings. Coordinates and facilitates Student and new hire education and training.

Requirements

  • Specialized post-secondary training equal to two years of college.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registered.
  • BLS required.
  • Two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates staff and patient flow through imaging section.
  • Performs imaging exams following departmental protocols.
  • Prepares all monthly, holiday, on-call and vacation schedules.
  • Responsible for performance appraisals, orientation interviewing and training of personnel.
  • Participates in writing and updating policies, procedures, and protocol manuals for department.
