About The Position

Under the direction of the supervisor, this position is responsible for the daily distribution of resources and facilitating patient throughput. This position develops new processes and implements new procedures including training staff as needed, also maintains accuracy of data and tasks. Performs competency evaluations of clerical personnel. This position also performs the duties of a unit coordinator as required, must meet all requirements and demonstrates ongoing proficiency in required skills. Maintains schedules, assists in maintaining payroll, and acts as back up with unit coordinator duties. Maintains inventory of forms and ordering of supplies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Degree
  • 1 - 2 years experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of computer systems and able to perform computer tasks

  • Organizing new hire orientation.
  • Addressing identified issues in a professional and non-judgmental approach.
  • Appropriately responding to and prioritizing work.
  • Removing medications from the tube system and placing in appropriate locked cabinet.
  • Responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Performing computer down time procedures.
  • Performing clerical duties.
  • Supporting organizational and unit changes.
  • Working collaboratively with the charge nurse to assure that proper policies and procedures are followed.
  • Acknowledging need for self growth and accountability.
  • Identifying areas for self improvement.
  • Developing and maintaining database/spreadsheet systems for tracking staff participation in staff meetings and education.
  • Assisting educator in printing materials for new employee orientation or other education.
  • Coordinating management team schedules for successful, timely completion of the performance appraisal and peer review process.
  • Maintaining proficient knowledge of computer applications specific to unit/job.
  • Knowledgeable of the function/operation of equipment specific to the role on the unit.
  • Providing supply management support.
  • Organized and efficient in daily activities.
