About The Position

Ready to take your career to the next level? Frima is looking for a Lead UI Designer to join a team working on one of our biggest co-development projects! We are Frima, a video game development studio based in Quebec City and Montreal for over 20 years, bringing together hundreds of passionate talents united by a single ambition: to create unforgettable games across all platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, multimedia, or any other related field, combined with equivalent experience
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in the video game industry
  • Experience in a leadership, mentoring, or UI team coordination role
  • Excellent command of interface and user experience (UI/UX) design principles in the context of mobile gaming
  • Good knowledge of the Unreal Engine and its UI integration tools
  • Good understanding of the production and implementation constraints of video game interfaces
  • Very strong command of French and English, both spoken and written
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed

Responsibilities

  • Determine interface and usability requirements in line with client expectations and project specifications
  • Ensure consistency and high-quality visual execution across all projects
  • Facilitate seamless coordination with other departments (UX, game design, art, production) to ensure consistent integration of UI elements
  • Monitor the progress of deliverables, ensure compliance with internal standards and artistic quality, while meeting deadlines
  • Identify issues related to UI production and propose functional and creative solutions
  • Organize and lead UI progress meetings with the team and relevant leads
  • Motivate, supervise, and participate in the skill development of your direct team by providing coaching through continuous feedback
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the partner, ensuring rigorous follow-up on all UI-related matters
  • Participate in project reviews and post-mortems to continuously improve processes and deliverables
  • Engage in discussions with other leads and the Design Director to share best practices and industry innovations, as well as propose ways to improve the efficiency of the UI team within the studio
