VMD is currently seeking applicants from existing personnel performing Lead Transportation Security Officer services at Sonoma County Airport (STS). Grow in a fulfilling career as a Lead Transportation Security Officer (LTSO) at the Sonoma County Airport (STS) working alongside a team of aviation security professionals. You will be responsible for leading Transportation Security Officers (TSOs). As an LTSO, you will identify, distribute, and balance workloads and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow and skill levels. You will adjust the workload in accordance with established priorities.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Level II certified Transportation Security Officer (TSO).
• Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
• Pass a computerized assessment (pattern recognition and 2D/3D spatial reasoning)
• Pass a medical evaluation (vision, hearing, and joint mobility exam)
• Pass pre-employment drug test
• Pass a TSA background and financial records check
• Ability to work any day, Monday – Sunday, and any shift between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM
• Ability to work independently and possess effective decision-making skills.
• Must have the ability to attain dual-function certification.

Responsibilities

• Passenger and Baggage Screening; responding to security-related incidents
• Operating various screening equipment
• Communicating and interacting with travelers and stakeholders
• Directing the work of subordinates to ensure the requirements of SOPs are met
• Providing input to the STSO concerning employee performance
• Performing the functions of an STSO in their absence on security-related issues
• Implementing updated security screening procedures
