As the Lead Tissue Processing Operator, you will play a pivotal role in our processing efforts by overseeing the processing of human tissues used in various surgical procedures. You will be responsible for leading a team of operators, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of tissue grafts and samples, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism and quality control throughout the process.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Surgical Technologist/Sterile Processing Certification or Bachelor's degree of science.
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques/aseptic processing.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills for email and data entry.
  • Must read, write, ad speak in English, and communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Able to participate in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others.
  • Ability to gown to ISO Class 5 and 7 Clean Room standards.

Responsibilities

  • Performing tissue processing activities in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), accurately processing tissue products to the required specifications within expected processing times to meet production schedules.
  • Storing and moving tissue in appropriate locations before, during and after the tissue has been processed.
  • Properly disposing hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with the applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Prepare and process allograft tissue that is used for surgical implantation.
  • Use aseptic technique, machinery, instrumentation, and equipment to evaluate, cut, shape and package implantable grafts that meet specification.
  • Accurately complete paperwork and perform data entry where required.
  • Perform scheduled cleaning of clean rooms per SOP.
  • Perform lab support functions such as, set-up and breakdown of clean rooms, in some cases, properly clean instruments per SOP and handling of donor tissues.
  • Prepare grafts to be sent for sterilization and receive them back in with required paperwork.
  • Sends out sample grafts for testing.
  • Provides support to the Processing Team.
  • Provides support to the Processing Supervisor and Operations Manager as needed.
  • Performs any other related duties as required.
