About The Position

The Lead Therapist is responsible for ensuring the treatment plan is implemented as designed and effectively. This includes reviewing data collected by the Line Therapist and parent/guardian, modeling evidence-based therapies, and teaching line therapists how to implement programs. The Lead Therapist must be able to adjust client objectives, understand prompting and data collection procedures, and address issues as they arise. They will also provide guidance and support to Line Therapists, report progress and concerns to supervisors and Interventionists, and receive/respond to parent/guardian feedback. Daily requirements include observing goal implementation in the client's home, reviewing data, communicating with parents, modeling new techniques, monitoring skill generalization and maintenance, and informing the Interventionist of any issues. Additionally, up to two hours per week outside the client's home may be approved for work related to program materials.

Requirements

Knowledge of evidence-based therapies including but not ABA, Discrete Trial, Pivotal Response Training, and Natural Environment Training.
Understanding of prompting procedures, data collection, and error correction procedures.
Ability to make adjustments to client objectives/targets as needed.
Ability to think on your feet and make suggestions and/or corrections as needed relating to client programs, data collection, and issues and/or concerns.
Ability to ensure that the line therapist(s) are generalizing programs throughout multiple settings/environments.
Ability to ensure that the line therapist includes maintenance goals within current programming.
Ability to report issues and/or concerns relating to family, client, or team to your supervisor.
Ability to report progress and/or concerns to your Interventionist.
Ability to receive parent/guardian feedback, responding to or forwarding concerns to the appropriate person.
Ability to observe the implementation of goals facilitated by the Line Therapist to ensure they follow the ITP.
Ability to review data collected by the Line Therapist(s) and parent(s)/guardian(s).
Ability to communicate with the parent/guardian.
Ability to respond to concerns as needed.
Ability to provide the Interventionist with mastered goals/graphs/ or other data to be updated.
Ability to model new objectives and/or techniques as necessary.
Ability to monitor programs to ensure that generalization of skills and maintenance goals are being worked on in multiple settings.
Ability to inform the Interventionist of any concerns or issues.
Ability to perform work related to the client’s program, such as visual schedules, token boards, program materials for various skill sets, academic materials, arts/crafts, etc. (up to 2 hours/week as needed, with approval).

Responsibilities

Work a maximum six (6) hours each week per client.

Model all therapies/objectives the client is working on and teach the line therapist how to implement all programs.
Think on your feet and make suggestions and/or corrections as needed relating to client programs, data collection, and issues and/or concerns.
Ensure that the line therapist(s) are generalizing programs throughout multiple settings/environments.
Ensure that the line therapist includes maintenance goals within current programming.
Provide guidance and support to the Line Therapist(s).
Report issues and/or concerns relating to family, client, or team to your supervisor.
