About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Lead Test and Integration Engineer to lead cutting-edge testing and validation efforts within the Undersea Systems Division (USD). This role is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in testing underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, subsea telemetry, and ISR solutions that support critical defense and national security missions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Ocean), Computer Science, Physics, or Math.
  • 4+ years of hands-on testing, integration, validation, and verification experience with software and integrated electro-mechanical systems including developing test procedures.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, scripting languages, and automation tools.
  • Proficiency in test automation, data acquisition systems, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to objectively document test results in written format.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with UUVs, deployed subsea systems, and underwater payloads.
  • Strong software background
  • Experience with designing, writing, executing, and evaluating system integration bench tests.
  • Experience performing software system subcomponent testing/integration and using Matlab or Python for data analysis.
  • Proven track record in developing automated testing frameworks and transitioning designs to production.
  • Experience with National Instruments Labview is a plus.
  • Experience with test data management systems and statistical analysis of test results.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure system functionality, reliability, and compliance with requirements.
  • Develop and execute integration plans to bring complex systems together.
  • Perform hands-on testing, validation, and verification of software and hardware systems, including integrated electro-mechanical systems.
  • Work closely with systems engineers, software developers, and hardware teams to identify and resolve issues during testing phases.
  • Develop automated testing frameworks and tools to streamline validation processes.
  • Document and analyze test results, providing detailed reports and recommendations for system improvements.
  • Ensure a “design for testing” focus during system development and integration.
  • Guide and mentor a matrixed team of engineers through testing phases of the product lifecycle.
