About The Position

Buckeye is seeking a Lead Terminal Operator with experience in terminalling or pipeline operations in the Oil & Gas Industry to join their team. The Lead Terminal Operator role is responsible for leading activities related to the receipt, storage, and inventory control and dispensing of liquid petroleum products for the field location and assisting in the overall operation and maintenance of the terminal & pipeline.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years related experience in terminalling or pipeline operations preferred.
  • General knowledge of equipment and maintenance of pumps, meters, truck loading rack required.
  • General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent analytical skills.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills are also required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills are paramount.
  • Must work independently and be able to exercise tact, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with internal and external customers, and when handling sensitive and confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Inventory control and/or accounting background would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with computerized inventory control systems and truck rack automation systems desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the maintenance and repair of the terminal loading rack and equipment associated with terminal operations; keeping the facility in good working order and acceptable appearance and maintaining the facility to meet or exceed company standards.
  • Receiving, storing, and distributing of petroleum products via pipeline, rail, and marine dock (if applicable), following all product movement, measurement and quality control procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations, safety directives and operating procedures, including Coast Guard, local, state and federal environmental agencies.
  • Maintaining a good relationship with all terminal customers, responding to their inquiries and needs as required.
  • Responding to terminal, pipeline, rail and marine related emergencies and participating in annual emergency response training drills.
  • Maintaining all computer inventory control systems and participating in any inventory issue investigations.
  • Assisting in compiling annual project lists and costs for annual budget purposes at each terminal.
  • Assisting in long term maintenance capital programs for each site.
  • Other duties as assigned.
