About The Position
Provide daily direction to tellers under their supervision, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and ensure that customers are waited on in a timely manner. This role is responsible for proving and maintaining branch cash vault, ordering and shipping currency and coin for the branch, and providing supervisor override approval on teller transactions. The Lead Teller ensures tellers under their supervision balance at the end of the day and provides ongoing coaching of teller staff regarding customer service, regulatory requirements, and product knowledge.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years customer service and cash handling experience
- At least 1-2 years teller supervisory or retail management experience
- Visual Acuity
- Audio Acuity
- Manual Dexterity
- Speak/Read/Write
- Ability to efficiently process data, discern patterns, and recognize inconsistencies in information
Responsibilities
- Provide daily direction to tellers under their supervision
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure that customers are waited on in a timely manner
- Prove and maintain branch cash vault
- Order and ship currency and coin for the branch
- Provide supervisor override approval on teller transactions
- Ensure tellers under their supervision balance at the end of the day
- Provide ongoing coaching of teller staff regarding customer service, regulatory requirements, and product knowledge
- Accept deposits of cash and/or checks
- Process withdrawals and cash checks up to designated limits
- Have knowledge about the importance, requirements and procedures for completing Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Regulation CC holds
- Accept loan payments of all types
- Sell cashier's checks, money orders and traveler's checks
- Process cash advances on credit/ debit cards
- Know when to report suspicious transactions, activity, or situations to appropriate personnel
- Maintain open communication with management regarding all issues of the teller line
- Buy and sell coin to tellers
- Balance ATM, Vault, Cash dispensers, Coin machine
- Schedule teller hours
- Ensure compliance with dual control and security procedures
- Promote bank services and cross sell bank products through referrals
