About The Position

This role provides strategic and operational insights to Technology senior leadership. It establishes and runs the execution operating system for the technology organization, encompassing insurance platforms, digital platforms, and infrastructure. The position translates leadership direction into disciplined planning, governance, repeatable and predictable execution, and performance visibility across a complex, multi-platform environment. Acting as a force multiplier for leadership, this role aims to increase execution velocity and ensure strategic priorities are operationalized into clear, integrated plans with measurable outcomes. It ensures thoughtfulness, transparency, and accountability across multi-platform environments, serving as the critical link between high-level direction and on-the-ground delivery. The role reports to the Director, IT Program Management. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 10 days per month in the office. Candidates should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of location.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-oriented solutions or support.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional programs without direct authority.
  • Background in technology‑enabled or platform‑centric environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in change and transformation environments.
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline.
  • Financial, analytical, and systems thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead with influence and expertise.
  • Contribute to division or department leadership team.
  • Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values and practices.
  • Oversee and improve the Insurance Platforms operating system (pace, governance forums, artifacts, and scorecards).
  • Translate leadership priorities into integrated execution plans: milestones, dependencies, capacity assumptions, and outcomes.
  • Act as a confidential sounding board and strategic advisor focused on operating health, execution risk, and organization effectiveness.
  • Promote execution planning and communications for large-scale change efforts, including platform consolidation, operating model shifts, and workforce evolution/reskilling.
  • Produce executive-level reporting that ties investments to outcomes and business impacts.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, cost, and operational inefficiency across platforms.
  • Ensure standards, metrics, and narratives across platform leaders.
  • Resolve cross‑platform friction, overlap, and misalignment.
  • Manage integrated master planning across platform domains to ensure work is coordinated, sequenced, and dependency aware.
  • Surface risks, constraints, and tradeoffs early with recommended options and impacts (timeline, capacity, cost, and customer/partner impact).
  • Promote closure on decisions and commitments; track actions across leaders and partners.
