About The Position

MIO Partners’ Enterprise IT team is seeking a Lead Technologist to manage the organization’s AWS cloud environment and work with business and technology stakeholders to design and implement DevOps and platform engineering practices. The role supports a secure, standardized, scalable, resilient, and efficient application and infrastructure footprint. It also contributes across the full system development life cycle, from requirements gathering and application design through coding, testing, delivery, support, and enhancements. The role partners with developers, QA, AppSecOps, business owners, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into consistent technical solutions, improve deployment processes, and raise development standards. Work allocation is estimated at 25% technology leadership, 25% relationship building and requirements gathering, and 50% hands-on development. MIO’s applications are primarily built with Python/Django and libraries including Pandas, NumPy, and PL/SQL. The technology environment also includes SQL Server, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, Kafka, Tableau, and third-party APIs and data sources. Applications are hosted in AWS using Docker containers on ECS, Fargate, and EC2. The role follows a Scrum methodology and includes balancing tactical needs with longer-term projects.
