About The Position

The Lead Technician QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of Primoris Services Corporation's QHSE management systems across various projects and operational sites. This role involves conducting inspections, training employees, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies to foster a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dedicated QHSE role, preferably within the construction, utilities, or energy sectors.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification for General Industry or Construction.
  • Proven knowledge of federal, state, and local QHSE regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Strong understanding of incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular QHSE inspections and audits of work sites, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of QHSE policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Deliver QHSE training to employees, including new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized safety courses.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain accurate QHSE records, documentation, and reports, including incident logs, inspection findings, and training records.
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a strong safety culture and ensure effective communication of QHSE requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal QHSE regulations, as well as company standards.
  • Participate in the development and review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and other risk assessment tools.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning, including conducting drills and evaluating effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on QHSE matters to site personnel.
