About The Position

This role involves complex network troubleshooting, multi-vendor hardware support, circuit turn-ups, optical testing, system commissioning, and technical leadership for deployment projects. The Lead Technician will be responsible for documenting root cause analyses, coordinating with external vendors, and leading emergency response efforts. Additionally, the role includes developing and refining site-specific runbooks and Method of Procedures (MOPs).

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of data center or network operations experience
  • CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, or equivalent networking certifications
  • Advanced fiber optic certification (CFOT/CFOS)
  • Demonstrated OTDR proficiency and fiber characterization experience
  • Experience leading teams in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or Security+ certification.
  • BICSI Installer or Technician certification.
  • Experience with Cisco, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, or similar enterprise hardware.
  • Knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with DCIM platforms and asset management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Complex network troubleshooting (OSPF/BGP adjacency issues, VLAN misconfigurations, spanning tree problems)
  • Multi-vendor hardware support across diverse environments
  • Circuit turn-ups and acceptance testing (dark fiber, wavelength, Ethernet)
  • Optical testing using OTDR, power meters, and fiber inspection scopes
  • System commissioning and burn-in procedures
  • Technical leadership for deployment projects (crew supervision)
  • Root cause analysis documentation for hardware and connectivity failures
  • Coordination with carriers, ISPs, and third-party vendors
  • Emergency response and P1/P2 incident onsite leadership
  • Development and refinement of site-specific runbooks and MOPs
