About The Position

PowerPlan is seeking a Lead Technical Consultant to take full ownership of complex technical delivery across enterprise implementations, upgrades, integrations, and cloud initiatives — from discovery through go-live and stabilization. This is a senior individual-contributor role built for someone who wants real autonomy over how a workstream gets solved: you set the technical approach, make the call on readiness, and decide when to escalate, without waiting for direction on ambiguous problems. Your impact is measured by the outcome of the workstream and the capability you build around it — not by how many hard problems you personally solve or how closely you're managed along the way. You'll shape how PowerPlan's Professional Services organization delivers, scales, and develops its people. PowerPlan helps the companies that power the world unlock greater value from their infrastructure investments. We combine deep industry expertise, trusted technology, and AI-driven innovation to help capital-intensive organizations manage the financial complexity of their assets with confidence. We're in the middle of one of the most significant transformations in our history. Decades of proven functionality are being reimagined on a modern SaaS foundation, while AI becomes central to how we build, deliver, and evolve our products. The next generation of the PowerPlan platform is being designed right now. Join us, and you'll have the opportunity to influence the technology, engineering practices, and capabilities that will shape it for years to come.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading complex technical delivery end-to-end, from discovery through go-live and stabilization, across enterprise implementations, integrations, or cloud initiatives.
  • A track record of building and maintaining delivery plans that keep dependencies, milestones, and decisions visible to the full team.
  • Strong judgment for evidence-based readiness decisions, and the discipline to call something “not ready” even under schedule pressure.
  • Experience escalating problems as decision-ready recommendations — with evidence, options, and impact — rather than raw status updates.
  • Comfort leading technical workshops and translating complex topics for audiences ranging from engineers to executives.
  • A history of transferring knowledge deliberately so customers and teammates can operate independently.
  • Ability to connect technical decisions to cost, schedule, risk, and client obligations, and to spot scope or budget risk early.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring other technical consultants, and building reusable standards, templates, or playbooks.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical workstream end-to-end — discovery, design, build, testing, cutover, go-live, and stabilization — with a delivery plan that makes dependencies, milestones, and open decisions visible to everyone.
  • Make readiness decisions on evidence, not schedule pressure, using explicit criteria at design-complete, build-complete, and cutover gates.
  • Turn ambiguous technical problems into decision-ready escalations — evidence, options, and a recommendation — instead of raw status updates.
  • Lead technical workshops and design sessions, translating complex topics for engineers, business stakeholders, and executives alike.
  • Transfer knowledge deliberately throughout the engagement so customers can operate and support the solution independently.
  • Connect technical decisions to schedule, cost, risk, and client obligations, catching scope drift before it becomes a change-order surprise.
  • Coach other consultants through the reasoning behind a solution, and build the reusable standards and playbooks that reduce key-person dependency.
