About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health, opening in early 2025, will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in over 20 years. It aims to integrate clinical care with community providers, FQHCs, The George Washington University Hospital, and an Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, creating a robust network of care for all District residents, particularly those in Wards 7 and 8. The hospital will feature 136 beds (expandable to 184), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery services, an ambulatory pavilion, a 500-car garage, and a helipad. We are seeking a Lead CT Technologist (Full Time) to join our Radiology department. This role operates under the direction of the Manager and is the point person for transports. Key responsibilities include demonstrating radiation protection and safety, maintaining equipment and work areas, and performing examinations proficiently and professionally. The Radiology department provides services during day, evening, mid-nights, and weekends.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Completion of AMA-sponsored School of Radiologic Technology.
  • 4 years’ experience as radiology technologist.
  • 3 years of professional experience that demonstrates a progressive leadership background.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of Manager.
  • Serve as the point person for transports.
  • Demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
  • Perform examinations in a proficient, courteous, and professional manner to favorably promote the services offered at the facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
