About The Position

Leading Edge Before & After School Programs is seeking Lead Teachers for after-school-only and before-and-after-school programming in Colorado Springs School Districts 2 and 11 for the 2026–2027 school year. Lead Teachers help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where school-age students feel included and excited to return. They build relationships, lead games and enrichment activities, encourage creativity and confidence, and work with a supportive team. The role offers meaningful part-time, school-year work, with opportunities to develop and advance into future leadership roles. Work schedules include weekday morning and afternoon shifts. Tuesday through Friday mornings run from 7:00–8:30 AM, Monday mornings from 7:00–9:55 AM, and Monday through Friday afternoons from 3:00–6:00 PM. Applicants available for both morning and afternoon shifts are especially encouraged to apply. Weekly hours depend on student enrollment, program needs, and required child-to-staff ratios. Additional opportunities may be available to support school-out days, special programming, training, or other Leading Edge programs. Pay is $18.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, and is paid biweekly every other Friday. The organization provides a monthly enrichment curriculum and encourages teachers to bring their own interests and talents into programming. Leading Edge is committed to an accessible hiring process and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Selected applicants first complete a virtual screening interview via Zoom; those moving forward interview with district leadership. Accommodations or alternative interview arrangements are available upon request.
