Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prefer an Associates’/Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field. Equivalent experience working with school-aged children is also accepted.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
- Committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.
Responsibilities
- Maintain positive communication with parents, participants, and staff.
- Work cooperatively with ELC staff.
- Promote ELC programs.
- Ensure the implementation of the ELC program.
- Provide childcare support for the ELC program director and staff.
- Create a safe and enriching classroom where children can participate in fun activities while learning.
