Lead Teacher
About The Position
Kids N Fitness South, in Decatur, is a licensed childcare center seeking a Lead Teacher to support the Infant age group. The ideal candidate will have a CDA or at least 6 ECE college credits, the ability to pass all background checks, and previous lead teacher experience is a plus. The required shift is Monday - Friday, 7am-4pm. Compensation is $18 - $19/hour, based on education and experience. Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
- Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
- Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
- Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
- Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
- Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
