Child Care Lead Teacher Preschool
About The Position
BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Lead Teacher for a preschool classroom in Newtown, Connecticut. The Lead Teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home environment for children in accordance with NAEYC guidelines. The role includes supervising children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in one assigned classroom, creating developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities, maintaining a safe and welcoming classroom, and communicating and partnering with families about each child’s care and education. Pay is $18.00–$20.50 per hour. The position has no evening or weekend work.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Head Teacher certification, 12 credits in Early Childhood Education courses, or a bachelor's degree.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized.
- Ability to work within regular operating hours.
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years of experience in a licensed child care facility is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in one assigned classroom.

- Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment where children can grow and explore.
