About The Position

BrightPath Kids is seeking a Lead Teacher at its Ellington, Connecticut center. The Lead Teacher works side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in care, following NAEYC guidelines. The role involves caring for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old in one assigned classroom and creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that supports their growth and exploration. The position is full-time, pays $18.00–$20.50, and has no evenings or weekends.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Head Teacher certification, 12 credits in Early Childhood Education courses, or a Bachelor's Degree.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of experience in a licensed child care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in one assigned classroom.
• Create developmentally appropriate curriculum according to NAEYC standards.
• Develop programs and activities based on children’s interests and learning styles.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that allows children to grow and explore.
• Partner with families to create plans for children’s care and education.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
