About The Position

Lead Teacher – Young Threes/Older Toddlers (Full-Time) at Lake Area Discovery Center – Multiple Twin City Locations. As a Lead Teacher, you'll create a warm, engaging classroom where young children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships. You'll work alongside a supportive team of assistant teachers and receive paid daily prep time to plan high-quality learning experiences. Lead Teachers collaborate with on-site and regional teaching teams to develop monthly curriculum, share classroom resources, participate in continuing education, and grow as instructional leaders.

Requirements

  • Meet Minnesota DHS Lead Teacher qualifications.
  • Experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children.
  • Passion for creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Meet Minnesota DHS Lead Teacher qualifications for an early childhood classroom.
  • Experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children in a licensed early childhood setting.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet Minnesota DHS licensing requirements and successfully complete a background study.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Minnesota Teaching License (Birth–Grade 3 or PreK–Grade 3).
  • Experience leading a classroom or mentoring other teachers.
  • Knowledge of play-based learning, authentic assessment, and early childhood best practices.
  • Interest in teaching in a Christian, faith-based early childhood program.
