Requirements

  • Some courses completed in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Current Qualifying Letter/ Ability To Obtain A Qualifying Letter- (North Carolina requires this- candidates who are offered a position receive instructions, this process involves a making an appointment for a criminal background check and receiving a letter which typically takes about a week to ten days but some individual circumstances can vary).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children.

Nice To Haves

  • NCECC (Credentials), or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years of previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred.
  • Experience with classroom management of medium to large groups of toddlers to preschool aged children, depending on the age of children could range from 12 to 24 with a co-teacher, and from 5 to 13 at times by yourself, depending on ages.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share ideas and strategies.
