About The Position

Children of America (COA) is seeking passionate Lead Teachers to join their team. Lead Teachers are responsible for planning lessons and executing the COA curriculum in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth. The role involves working with preschool children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, across various programs including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before and After Care, and Summer Camp. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member who brings their unique attributes and perspectives to strengthen the team.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in early childhood preferred.
1 year of experience in a licensed childcare preferred.
Flexible in challenging situations.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to build strong relationships.
Commitment to professional development.
Effective decision-making skills.
Must be First Aid/CPR trained.
Meet all state requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Planning lessons and executing the COA curriculum.
Working alongside a talented team of educators in a supportive environment.
Interacting daily with Assistant Teachers, children, parents, the management team, and teaching staff.
Instituting the developmentally appropriate curriculum with a gentle touch.
Handling the demands of infants and toddlers in different stages.
Creating a positive learning environment.
Ensuring a safe and structured learning environment.
Planning daily lessons that support the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each child.
Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
Using writing skills and technology to deliver child progress reports to parents and other teachers.
Presenting age-appropriate expectations to children.
Being creative, passionate, and having fun in the role.
