As a Lead Teacher, you'll take an active role in creating an engaging classroom environment, building meaningful relationships with children and families, and helping children reach important developmental milestones. Children of America is a nationally accredited early childhood education provider with 65+ locations across 18 states. Our programs serve children from 6 weeks through 12 years old, including: Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before & After School Care, Summer Camp. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with required Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework/credits
  • At least 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain as required
  • Must meet applicable state childcare licensing requirements
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing classroom needs
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and education
  • Passion for working with children and supporting their development

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily classroom activities and age-appropriate instruction
  • Implement engaging lesson plans and learning activities
  • Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
  • Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and their families
  • Communicate professionally with parents, teachers, and school leadership
  • Observe, document, and communicate children's development and progress
  • Complete required child progress reports and classroom documentation
  • Establish consistent classroom routines and age-appropriate expectations
  • Respond to children's individual needs with patience and empathy
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
  • Work collaboratively with your teaching team and school leadership
  • Implement COA's Mind and Body Matters curriculum
  • Follow all health, safety, and state licensing requirements
