About The Position

The Lead Supportive Services Navigator – Alameda Campus provides trauma-informed individualized support and crisis management support for residents of Warren Village’s supportive housing project for families, who have experienced homelessness or housing instability, with a preference for single parents. Based on project location and community composition, the Lead Navigator will be responsible for providing individualized support and crisis management support to residents to foster an inclusive environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field; or 8 years of related experience may be substituted for education.
  • Experience providing case management, coaching, and/or resource navigation.
  • One year of experience supervising staff.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) required.
  • Experience in program coordination and/or development.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse people. Sensitivity to and understanding diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives to ensure inclusivity and respect in community engagement efforts.
  • Ability to work regular night and occasional weekend hours within the work week. (Schedule will include two evenings per week of on-site work until 7:30pm.)

Nice To Haves

  • Lived experience in homelessness or housing instability, including alumni of Warren Village.
  • Experience working with children and a basic understanding of child development.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure.
  • If driving is required, employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive Warren Village vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts one-on-one individualized support utilizing a Mobility Mentoring approach. Conducts detailed Bridge to Self-Sufficiency assessments to identify the families’ strengths, needs and establish individual mobility goals related to upward economic mobility, including housing, budgeting, career and education, childcare, health care and more.
  • Maintains a strong sense of emotional intelligence, reliability, and flexibility to navigate complex issues at any given time without judgment. Assists residents through problem-solving, direct support, intervention, de-escalation, and mediation, as necessary.

  • Facilitate connections for residents to additional onsite programming.
  • Performs outreach and assessments to potential residents during the pre-lease-up and lease-up phases.
  • Assists potential residents in obtaining and preparing the required documentation to ensure alignment with Denver Housing Authority and Denver’s Office of Housing Stability (HOST) voucher program guidelines.
  • Provides coverage of front-desk responsibilities as necessary, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Assists with intern tasks supervision.
  • Fulfills essential documentation and reporting obligations.
  • Supervises navigation staff, including hiring, training, coaching, motivating, scheduling, and evaluating performance.
  • Ensuring consistency among staff and interns providing individualized one-on-one support, appropriate training, and support provisions are conducted with the same approaches, processes, policies, forms, materials, etc.
  • Facilitates equitable distribution of caseloads among staff to optimize efficiency, ensure access to support, and sustain timely delivery of services to all residents or potential residents, including lease-up process.
  • Creates forms and materials for supportive services, ensuring alignment with those at other Warren Village properties, where appropriate.
  • Monitors the outcomes of supportive services to track effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provides input into budget development and administers and adheres to the annual supportive services program budget, ensuring consistency and reasonableness of spending.
  • Works in conjunction with the Director of Supportive Services and Property Management on crisis and/or complaint situations for residents.
  • Serves as a liaison between staff members, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Serves as lead for crisis management as authorized or needed.
  • Uses data-driven insights to inform decision-making and prioritize improvement efforts aimed at optimizing supportive services and enhancing resident outcomes.
  • Participates in Leadership Team meetings, organization-wide brainstorming, vision and leadership, and crisis communication.
  • Maintains open channels of communication and sharing of information with the Director of Supportive Services - Alameda - and other Warren Village staff to collaboratively ensure the development of goals for resident supportive services among both youth and adults, aligned with Warren Village's overarching strategic vision.
  • Fosters cross-site collaboration by connecting with other Warren Village staff to share best practices and leverage collective insights.
  • Covers department administrative needs, on a rotating basis, such as distribution of mail, staff kitchen duties, donations organization and distribution, and basic office processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
