About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Lead Supply Chain Accountant provides financial leadership and expertise by driving inventory management and risk assessment within the supply chain accounting team for Fanatics Commerce North America. This role builds strong partnerships across operations and finance to develop and maintain a best-in-class supply chain accounting infrastructure, with direct connectivity to the Operations Team in the evaluation and governance of Inventory Adjustments. The Lead Supply Chain Accountant delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both, with demonstrated ability to operate in complex, multi-geography organizations.
  • Strong accounting foundation with experience in Record-to-Report (R2R) processes; experience with public companies and global organizations preferred.
  • Experience with inventory accounting and inventory lifecycle processes preferred, with familiarity in supply chain accounting environments.
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and reporting preferred; proven ability to support and develop internal control frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across finance and operations functions.
  • Forward-thinking, proactive leadership approach with the technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills necessary to thrive in a highly visible, growth-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner cross-functionally with finance, accounting, and operational leaders to drive change management, improve efficiencies, and enhance process alignment across Commerce North America.
  • Assist the Director of Supply Chain Accounting with SOX compliance and the development of a strong internal control framework, ensuring consistent application across geographies and business channels.
  • Support financial business partnerships with business leadership teams and the global corporate finance organization, creating predictable and repeatable processes that provide visibility into key business and operational performance metrics.
  • Assist in the development and performance management of more junior accounting team members through coaching, technical training, and providing actionable performance feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment aligned to Fanatics Commerce's BOLD Leadership Principles.
  • Lead the Inventory Adjustments Governance program in partnership with Operations and Finance, ensuring inventory accuracy that directly supports reliable fan fulfillment and experience.
  • Ensure effective controls over inventory and intercompany movements, including domestic and international transfers, to sustain seamless supply chain operations across all fan-facing channels.
  • Support balance sheet reconciliations and reviews that underpin the financial integrity of the Commerce business and its ability to serve fans globally.
  • Lead the financial review cycle with business leadership to deliver visibility into operational performance metrics that drive fan-centric business decisions.
  • Perform strategic analysis of financial and operational data to identify insights, risks, and business opportunities, translating findings into actionable recommendations for finance and operational leaders.
  • Evaluate, document, and communicate accounting transactions and support the development of accounting treatments for new business initiatives and models as the Commerce platform continues to scale.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and identify cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting standards, including U.S. GAAP interpretation, and communicate process changes and requirements proactively across the organization.
  • Coordinate overall activities related to risk assessment and inventory management for the Supply Chain Accounting team supporting the Commerce business, owning outcomes from end to end.
  • Support month-end close activities for Commerce North America with rigor, accuracy, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Drive the design and maintenance of a best-in-class supply chain accounting infrastructure capable of supporting a rapidly growing, multi-geography business.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and an advisory mindset in all financial oversight and guidance provided to finance and operational leaders.
