The selected Lead Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will provide support to the Turbine Airfoil Casting Team (TACT) within the Hot Section Module Center (HSMC) relative to improvement of suppliers' Quality as well as providing Quality interface, expertise and support to Suppliers. The position offers opportunities for continued growth and development in both technical as well as interpersonal skills.

Requirements

Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience in Quality, Engineering, Operations or Supply Chain experience in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defense, Automotive or other heavily-regulated industry; OR Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience. We will also consider High School Diploma or specialized Technical or Military training and 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

University degree ideally in Engineering. Mechanical or Quality Engineering preferred
ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) or equivalent.
Experience with PPAP and FAI process, inspection tools/equipment and Quality Management Systems (i.e., AS9100)
Ability to interpret engineering drawings/ blueprint and familiarity with geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney shop practices & processes, quality standards, and inspections methods & tools
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement tools and problem-solving techniques (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC, RCCA Red-X, Fault Tree, etc.).
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs, SAP ERP, and Solumina MES.
Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain key relationships with Suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as P&W internal disciplines (engineering, procurement, and other support organizations) to resolve production challenges in a fast paced environment.
Work with suppliers to help them meet P&W quality requirements and achieve best-in-class quality, delivery and service to ensure P&W customer confidence.
Monitor supplier overall quality performance and proactive quality initiatives, such as, conducting supplier Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB), and visits to domestic and international suppliers for ongoing Supplier Wellness Assessments.
Conduct data analysis in PW QLIK dashboards and SAP to collect and analyze data to implement process and design changes at suppliers to improve their quality and productivity.
Escape Management Support to Investigation Managers in Quality Clinic. Collect/Compile data and drive Continuous improvement initiatives at the Supplier in reaction to escapes, and in support of reduced cost and lead-time.
Hold Suppliers accountable for robust root cause and corrective actions and implement sustainable corrective / preventive action on all escapes and high impact recurring quality issues.
Engage with and present information to cross-functional leadership teams as it pertains to supplier improvement efforts.
Mentor and Coach junior SQEs
Be go to resource within team for assistance, support, navigation of issues/tasks
Evaluate best practice solutions, create guidance documents, train/ flow down to broader SQE and Quality Clinic teams
Support new initiatives coming that would impact SQE role
Help drive cross pollination of product center teams – resource sharing, who to talk to, cross team participation on initiatives
Resource for CORE events when SQE input is essential
