About The Position

The Lead Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for supplier quality for aerospace forgings, mill melting, and conversion processes. The role is suited to someone with a solid foundation in melting, conversion, or forgings who can apply that expertise to lead supplier quality improvement. The engineer drives quality for assigned suppliers, implements quality plans, selects suppliers through qualification processes, owns supplier results, and uses supplier scorecards to drive improvement. The role also owns supplier audits, ensures compliance, and drives improvement plans where needed. This position includes Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development, covering supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and support for key suppliers pursuing industrial standards of excellence. The role uses technical and analytical experience to address complex day-to-day problems, applies judgment to propose solutions beyond set parameters, and draws on internal and limited external sources to make decisions. It operates with some autonomy within functional practices and policies, may lead small, low-risk projects, and serves as a resource for less-experienced colleagues. The position requires understanding how the team's work integrates with other teams and contributes to the broader area.
