Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline.
  • 3 or more years of practical experience in engineering product development. (1-3 design cycles- proto-to-delivery)
  • Project Management Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product leadership and product direction.
  • Demonstrated program/project technical experience in a global environment, including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, planning, scheduling, requirements gathering, risk management, and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Drives and is accountable for operational excellence of assigned designs, projects, and rigor, with duties including design, project reviews, feasibility analysis, cost benefit analysis, prioritization, resourcing, initiation, execution, and closure.
  • Interacts with various other cross-functional teams: the program, service, manufacturing, and design engineering.
  • Builds an overall project plan for a subsystem.
  • Leads a group of peers- Driving day-to-day execution ensuring team members execute the aforementioned plan.
  • Plans/Maintains financials- Budget related items and overall subsystem cost.
  • Delivery of the subsystem- Culmination of all tasks to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Pitches in to help out with whatever the “Crisis of the days is”.
  • Identifies, plans, and tracks development, integration, reliability, and verification tasks.
  • Identifies and assesses subsystem risks and issues, develops contingency plans, and tracks mitigation.
  • Manage day-to-day subsystem activities.
  • Partners with subsystem technical lead and ensures design rigor is included in plan.
  • Tracks subsystem deliverables.
  • Manages subsystem expenses.
  • Establishes mechanisms to ensure good communication and execution among all team members.
  • Clearly communicates program status, issues, risks, and plans to management, especially “bad” news.
