The role applies expertise in protective relaying and control systems to develop calculations, designs, and specifications, and to prepare relaying philosophies and related equipment, SCADA, telecommunications, I/O, and connection-diagram designs. The engineer guides engineering and design staff, troubleshoots engineering issues, performs analyses and studies, and reviews work and existing facilities to recommend upgrades. The position also coordinates with engineers, project managers, clients, and suppliers to deliver complete and timely designs, and provides mentoring and knowledge-sharing to support colleagues’ development. Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews, and to plant sites for construction coordination and design verification, may be required. The role has a hybrid arrangement, with three days per week expected in the office and two days available for remote work. A relocation package may be available depending on location. Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor U.S. work authorization for this position.
