About The Position

Feyen Zylstra is seeking a Lead Structured Cabling (Technology Infrastructure) Technician for their Kalamazoo, MI branch. This role serves as an onsite project leader, responsible for ensuring successful project completion through supervision of installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance in commercial and industrial settings. The position also involves providing onsite leadership and support to other Technicians.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
5+ years in the communications industry required.
Advanced knowledge of telecommunications, data, AV, network infrastructure cabling and components required.
Maintain and reference industry standards including BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local Low Voltage Code.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or has the ability to learn technology and software.
Skilled at reading and following blueprints and electrical schematics.
Ability to informally lead others, including directing work and coaching for improvement.
Demonstrated focus on safety, quality, customer service and goal attainment.
Ability to travel regionally to project sites as needed.
Pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

BICSI Technician certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical and low voltage systems.
