About The Position

Foth is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Lead Structural Engineer who is passionate about helping clients solve complex challenges and is looking for opportunities to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact. This position is preferably based in our Green Bay, WI or Cincinnati, OH office locations. We will also consider fully remote candidates located within the United States who are willing and able to travel as required to support client projects, field work, and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering, or an equivalent combination of technical education and relevant industry experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive structural engineering experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with the ability to serve as Engineer of Record for applicable projects.
  • Demonstrated experience designing industrial buildings, structures, and related facility infrastructure in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing structural engineering support for industrial manufacturing facilities, including paper mills, converting operations, chemical processing facilities, or similar heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience delivering engineering and construction support for operating industrial facilities, including field investigations, construction observation, equipment installation projects, shutdowns, facility upgrades, and coordination with plant operations personnel.
  • Licensed in Illinois and/or California, or experience supporting projects within those jurisdictions.
  • Familiarity with 3D scanning technologies, point cloud workflows, and BIM coordination in an industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work directly with clients from concept development through detailed design, construction, and project closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing facility personnel to support plant operations, capital projects, reliability initiatives, and ongoing engineering improvements in an active industrial environment.
  • Prepare structural calculations, construction documents, technical specifications, and design packages for industrial projects, with a primary focus on paper manufacturing and related process facilities.
  • Evaluate the structural integrity and load-carrying capacity of existing buildings and structures, including facility expansions, equipment installations, modifications, and renovation projects.
  • Analyze, design, and detail structural solutions for a variety of manufacturing-related applications, including platforms, catwalks, mezzanines, equipment and utility supports, monorails, cranes, foundations, access structures, and other industrial systems.
  • Develop project scope, labor estimates, budgets, and schedules while serving as a technical resource and point of contact for clients throughout project execution.
  • Lead and mentor engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary project teams to successfully deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet client objectives, schedules, and budgets.
  • Utilize and manage 3D laser scanning technologies and point cloud data to support project planning, engineering design, clash detection, and construction coordination.
  • Perform field investigations and obtain measurements of existing structures, equipment, and utility systems to support engineering assessments and project development.
  • Use AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design tools to develop construction drawings, structural models, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with structural, mechanical, process, electrical, and other engineering disciplines while supporting multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced consulting environment.
