About The Position

Boeing Defense Space and Security is currently looking for a Lead Stress Engineer to join their Huntsville Design Center team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • Level 4: Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience
  • Level 5: Typically, 14 or more years' related work experience
  • 9+ years of experience performing stress analysis using manual calculations and finite element analysis
  • 9+ years of experience working with aerospace industry specifications and standards, part and/or process requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with metallic materials and metallic processes
  • 1 year or more of experience with fatigue and fracture analysis and test
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with testing, writing test plans, conducting tests, and writing test reports
  • 5+ years of experience performing stress analysis for government and industry customers
  • 5+ years of experience performing fracture analysis or damage tolerance analysis
  • Aerospace and/or Mechanical Engineer degree
